PDF to Word

Convert PDF files to DOCX with text or visual page modes.

Why use PDF to Word?

Moving from PDF back to Word matters when you need to edit paragraphs, comment in track changes, or reuse content in a new template. PDFBaba offers text mode for selectable-text PDFs and a visual mode that places each page as an image inside DOCX when scans or strict layout fidelity matter more than editable body text. Complex columns and tables may still need cleanup after conversion—that is normal for any PDF-to-Word pipeline. You can stay within typical upload limits and avoid creating an account. Outputs are intended for your workflow, not for training models, and files are removed on a short retention policy so you are not leaving documents in cloud storage longer than necessary.

Supported files & limits

Input is one PDF. The default upload limit is 100MB per file; administrators can raise or lower this via server configuration. Text mode needs selectable text; visual mode works with scans by placing each page as an image in the DOCX.

Privacy & data retention

PDFBaba is built for quick tasks: your uploads and generated downloads are kept only long enough to process your request and are automatically deleted after about one hour. We do not require signup for these tools, and we do not use your documents to train AI models. For full details on cookies, analytics, and legal terms, read our Privacy Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use text vs visual mode?

Use text mode when the PDF has real text and you want an editable DOCX with separate Word pages. Complex layouts, columns, and tables may still differ from the PDF. Use visual mode when you need the page to look like the original (including scans); text in Word will not be editable as typed paragraphs.

Why does text mode say there is no extractable text?

Some PDFs are scanned images with no text layer. Try visual mode, or unlock the PDF first if it is password-protected.

What is the upload limit?

The default max upload size is 100MB (configurable via server environment).

Do I need an account or signup?

No. PDFBaba does not require signup for these tools. Upload, process, and download without creating an account.

Is there a watermark on the output?

Output from this tool is not watermarked by PDFBaba. You get a clean file suitable for work and sharing.

What is the maximum file upload size?

The default limit is 100MB per file on the server. Your host or administrator can change this via environment configuration. If a file fails to upload, try compressing or splitting it first.

Can I use this tool on my phone or tablet?

Yes. PDFBaba works in modern mobile browsers. Very large files or complex previews may be smoother on a desktop with a stable connection.

Is there a daily usage limit?

To keep the service fast for everyone, rate limits may apply per IP. Typical personal use is rarely affected. If you hit a limit, wait briefly and try again.

What if my PDF is password-protected?

For PDF to Word, use an unlocked PDF when possible. If the file asks for a password in a reader, unlock it with our Unlock PDF tool first, then run PDF to Word on the decrypted file.

Why doesn’t my scan behave like a normal PDF?

Scanned pages are images until OCR adds a text layer. For editable text, try OCR PDF or PDF to Word visual mode, depending on your goal.
