Remove PDF metadata

Strip document info, XMP, and common hidden properties for privacy hardening.

Why use Remove PDF metadata?

Metadata can leak author names, previous titles, and software paths—bad for FOIA releases, client handoffs, and public web PDFs. Stripping Info and common XMP fields reduces accidental disclosure. PDFBaba performs a privacy-focused pass without signup, and files are deleted after about one hour. This complements Redact PDF and compression metadata stripping for defense-in-depth. Always review the output because some PDFs embed data in nonstandard ways.

Supported files & limits

One PDF to strip hidden metadata and XMP where possible. The default upload limit is 100MB per file; administrators can raise or lower this via server configuration. Pair with redact or compress for disclosure workflows.

Privacy & data retention

PDFBaba is built for quick tasks: your uploads and generated downloads are kept only long enough to process your request and are automatically deleted after about one hour. We do not require signup for these tools, and we do not use your documents to train AI models. For full details on cookies, analytics, and legal terms, read our Privacy Policy.
