Repair Corrupted or Damaged PDF Files Online

Fix PDF files that won't open, show errors, or have missing pages. Repair corrupted structure and recover content from damaged PDFs.

PDF files can become corrupted during download, email transfer, or storage. Common symptoms include error messages when opening, missing pages, garbled text, or the file refusing to load entirely.

PDF repair reconstructs the internal structure of the file—fixing broken cross-reference tables, repairing damaged object streams, and recovering content where possible.

When repair helps

Incomplete downloads (the file is smaller than expected) often result in truncated cross-reference tables. Repair can rebuild the missing structure and recover all pages that finished downloading.

Email transfer corruption (especially with older mail servers) can break the PDF header or introduce encoding errors. Repair re-saves the file with correct structure.

Storage corruption (bit rot, bad sectors, interrupted saves) may damage specific objects. Repair recovers what is readable and produces a valid PDF with the salvaged content.

Limitations

Repair cannot recover content that is physically missing from the file. If a 50-page PDF was truncated to 10 pages during download, repair fixes the structure but only the first 10 pages are available.

For critical documents, always keep backup copies. Repair is a recovery tool, not a substitute for proper file management.
