Add Bookmarks to PDF: Create a Clickable Table of Contents
Add navigation bookmarks to long PDFs so readers can jump to chapters, sections, or pages instantly.
PDF bookmarks (also called outlines) appear in the navigation panel of PDF viewers and let readers jump to specific sections instantly. Long documents without bookmarks require manual scrolling through hundreds of pages.
Adding bookmarks dramatically improves the user experience for manuals, reports, legal documents, textbooks, and any multi-chapter PDF.
How bookmark import works
Prepare a bookmarks file mapping page numbers to chapter titles. Upload both the PDF and the bookmarks file to the import tool. The bookmarks are embedded into the PDF navigation tree.
Alternatively, export existing bookmarks from a well-structured PDF to use as a template for similar documents.
